Our Thanksgiving!!!

Its amazing to think the holidays are amongst us.......

An entire day goes by so fast
Before you know it's all in the past
No time to do things again if wrong
Just hope for the best and move along

This cycle goes on for ever and ever
And nothing we do to change the fever
Of moving along so very fast
Trying to make every penny while we last

Take the time to get on bended knee
Thank Him with a heart full of glee
Prayer, when compared to wealth and riches
Has more power to grant your wishes

Our family celebrated Thanksgiving this past Thursday together as a family.  This was the first Thanksgiving that we've had alone.  As we sat around, enjoying our Turkey and all the fixing's; we discussed how thankful we were for the blessings in our lives.
Lyvvie: "I am thankful for friends and family"
Owen: "I am thankful for fun, friends and family"
Kirk: "I am thankful for food"
Mike: "I am thankful for this opportunity that God has put before us.  The new people we've met, the adventure, risk and challenges in life, and that we can experience this with my family with God's direction"
Me: "I am thankful for God's provision, protection and plans for us.  I am thankful that God chooses people who are not equipped, but equips those he chooses to do his will. I am thankful that God blesses us. I am thankful for my new friends here in Nebraska; who embrace us, support us and love us.  I am thankful for the friends and family back at home who love us and support us. I am thankful that we are all healthy....and" At this point, I was interrupted by the giggles, & laughter of the boys, and we began to EAT.
The weather was beautiful here, it was 68 degrees.  We played basketball, and then watched football!
Thanksgiving starts the holiday season.  We are all so busy with our every day lives, our schedules, our parties... etc. etc. What I realized this Thanksgiving is when you have the opportunity to enjoy memories and happiness with others such as family and friends, take the chance to do that... Isolation should never be a choice that someone makes, as it is lonely! If that means you must build a bridge between relationships to restore what is lost, then do it! Take ownership and responsibility for your actions. Don't let any more time pass, that enables you to miss out on the importance of life.. Which is RELATIONSHIPS!!!
Deut 6:5 "Love your neighbor as yourself"
This holiday season, consider those who are lonely, who are in need, or who need a friend. Remember there is a time for everything, a different season in life for everyone.

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45; Acts 17:11; Matthew 20:28

Mike is busy at camp.  They are working on adding an addition to the garage.  He has completed the fireplace in the dining hall, and the hot buffet line.  They will put carpet in the cabins sometime this winter.  He also is working on preparing and planning to make a "tepee Village" in the woods.  He may have the opportunity to go to Kansas City to build a bio dome.  One of the board of directors has offered Mike some side work, of which, he remodeled his bathroom, and will now be remodeling his basement.  Mike is also one of the teachers for our co-op on Thursday's for the Middle School group.  After Christmas break he will do some wood shopping classes for the High School.  He is really enjoying working with the kids, and teaching them some life skills.  Although our space is limited, he does the best he can. We are hoping we can actually get some work voluntarily for the high schools to actually do some hands on experience!

The kids are adjusting, but definitely have our rounds with emotional sadness. The boys are involved with their youth group on Wednesday's and Awana on Sunday nights.  Kirk has a biology class on Monday's and coop on Thursday's.  He will enroll in an art class this spring! Owen does coop on Thursday, and has expressed his interest in the theatre.  I will look into that as soon as I can... They have a great circle of friends that they have gotten involved with.. We are so blessed with that.

Prior to us moving out here, we were in a season of "waiting" We prayerfully asked God to open doors for us and his timing couldn't have been better.  We accepted his Call on our lives and eagerly await to see where this leads.  Currently we are in a season of "learning" We want to make ourselves as available as we can to learn and gain as much knowledge as the Lord is willing to give us.  We couldn't do this with out the prayer support of our loved ones... We Thank You from the bottom of our hearts!!!!

In honor of My Daughter!!! Happy 11th Birthday....

A Father Loves a Daughter

A father loves a daughter
Like no other love on earth.
From the day that he first meets her
Nothing can compare her worth.
Forever are they bonded
With a love that never fails.
For always he will hug her
And kiss goodnight with fairy tales.
He will love her and protect her
With strong arms just in case
But will also hug her tenderly
With a fatherly embrace.
Eskimo kisses touch her nose
With a giggle and a squeeze
And that sparkle in her little eyes
Could bring him to his knees.
What more could any father want
Than a daughter so sweet and pure
There's nothing in this world so rare
Of that he can be sure.
A fathers love is so unique
It cannot be replaced
He will always treasure times with her
And the memories embraced

A Daughter

All mothers need a daughter-
someone like her to be
To dress her up and take her out
for all the world to see.
To brush her hair so shiny
the pretty bows to tie
To teach her how to clean her room
and how to bake a pie.
Then one day when she's older
and finds her love so true
She never will forget the many
things she learned from you.
Someday she'll have her children
my wish for her would be
To have a lovely daughter
one who is just like she!

We are so greatful to have been blessed with not only TWO wonderful BOYS, but a lovely Daughter!!!
There was a time I had given up on my dreams of having a daughter.  After suffering from two miscarriage I couldnt bear the pain, of losing another child, so we gave up on a third child.  To my surprise, God had other plans for us  and gave us an angel sent from heaven, our precious Daughter!!! She has been such a delight, I  am honored to be her mother.  The road isn't always easy, in fact, we have had many heartaches, pain, suffering, trials and testings along the 16, 14, and now 11 years I have been called into parenthood.. But these moments has only strengthen our family. Along with all the wonderful, joyful and precious times,  I am proud to say that we are a family of Five and I love each and everyone of my children in their own special, unique creative ways.....

"Dance like no one is watching
Sing like no one is listening
Love like you've never been hurt
Live like it's Heaven on Earth"

Tomorrow is always a day away
Today is here and now
Yesterday will never stay
For God will not allow…

We must take this day He’s given us
And hold it in our hearts
For each day does slowly fade away
And today will soon depart…

He has given us something special
We hold it deep within
The special gift of memories
To retrieve and live again…

My Sister and Lil' Ryan surprised the kids with a visit!! It was priceless.... We had such an amazing time!! There were tears of joy, laughter and fun as we maximized our visit with as many things as we possibly could do... She arrived on Thursday as a surprise. We were doing our school work and she walked down stairs... Ryan yelled "surprise"!!!!  The kids later told me they thought it was a DREAM... they were more shocked than surprised!!! We visited the camp, went hiking and conquered the observation tower (82 steps!)  On Friday we explored Fremont's downtown shops and was treated to the Alotta Brownies Bakery.. It was amazing!!!!  We went swimmiing @ the YMCA and later enjoyed a nice Steak Dinner. On Saturday we drove to Omaha.. Mike and I took Ryan to the Children's Muesum while Aunt Wanda, Kirk, Owen and Lyvvie went shopping.  we had such a great time with Ryan.... We loved to see him laugh, and play!! His little "accident" was not my favorite...but unconditional love it all I'm going to say on that one!!! Afterwards we met back up and went to the Amazing Pizza Machine.  The kids had a blast!!! On Sunday we went to church, and then lunch.. Afterwards we took an hour leisurely nap and then walked Ryan up to our park.... We simply enjoyed the day, as we knew what the next day was to bring... All good things must come to an end and early Monday morning we headed to the airport.... AS we were having a wonderful time, there was a daddy/husband eagerly awaiting his family back @ home!!!! Something so joyful turned into something so broken as we watched our loved ones depart from our van and walk into the airport!!!  We cried, the whole way home and continued in our sorrows the rest of the day!!! I love them so much, and miss them so much.. It was such an amazing blessing to have them a part of our lives for those couple of days... I now know how they feel as they had to watch us leave... A choice they didn't make, but one they accepted because they love us soo much!!!  In search of peace Monday evening I started listening to some of my favorite music... I came across Chris Tomlin "I Will Follow"
 "I Will Follow"

Where you go, I'll go
Where you stay, I'll stay
When you move, I'll move
I will follow...

All your ways are good
All your ways are sure
I will trust in you alone
Higher than my side
High above my life
I will trust in you alone

Where you go, I'll go
Where you stay, I'll stay
When you move, I'll move
I will follow you
Who you love, I'll love
How you serve I'll serve
If this life I lose, I will follow you
I will follow you

Light unto the world
Light unto my life
I will live for you alone
You're the one I seek
Knowing I will find
All I need in you alone, in you alone

In you there's life everlasting
In you there's freedom for my soul
In you there joy, unending joy
and I will follow
